THE FILM

As this last election has shown, we’re still a nation deeply divided. What makes The Reunited States so powerful is that it shows us what it means to ‘bridge the divide.’ It reminds us that we all have a role to play in reuniting the country.
— Van Jones

What I love about this film is that it shows us that no matter where you are on the political spectrum – right, left or center – there is a path forward together. The Reunited States gives us something we all need right now: hope.
— Meghan McCain

Based on the book The Reunited States of America: How We Can Bridge the Partisan Divide
by Mark Gerzon

In generous support of the film, a free e-copy of the book will be made available here for a limited time.

At a time when America is ripping apart at the seams, The Reunited States is a powerful and urgent documentary that follows the unsung heroes on the difficult journey of bridging our political and racial divides.

Susan Bro, who lost her daughter when a car drove through a crowd of counter-protestors in Charlottesville, VA and David and Erin Leaverton, a Republican couple who travel to all fifty states in an RV to find out what divides us, are just a few of the characters profiled in the film.

Each of these bridge-builders have realized that while our divides run deeper than they ever could have imagined, so does the love and hope to bring our country back together.

Based on the book of the same name by Mark Gerzon, the film urges us to consider that everyone has a role to play in reuniting the country.

JOIN THE BRIDGE BUILDING MOVEMENT

Fierce disagreement is a vital part of being a democracy. But so is collaborative decision-making. When an issue is a matter of life and death, can we raise the level of our political discourse and actually dialogue, deliberate and reach a coherent and sustainable decision? When our security depends on it, can we finally put country before party?
— Mark Gerzon, Author, Activist, Transpartisan Political Thought Leader
